Heat Transfer model assuming an ideal heat transfer

1. Purpose of Model

The temperature values and the occurring heat flow with respect to time are computed for an ideal heat transfer process.

2. Level of Detail and Physical Insight


2.1 Level of Detail

Referring to Brunnemann et al. [1], this model refers to the level of detail L4 because the system is modelled with the use of balance equations, which are spatially averaged over the component.

2.2 Physical Insight

In an ideal heat transferring process the heat transfer coefficient tends to infinity. This leads to a temperature difference tending to zero for a finite heat flow rate or to a heat flow rate tending to infinity for a finite temperature difference.

3. Limits of Validity

Only valid for highly effective heat transfer processes
